We are thrilled you want to volunteer with us. Our volunteers are the backbone of our rescue. We can't wait to introduce you to our organization and the team that makes it all happen. Please take a few minutes to read through the website. Learn our foster and adoption processes (no quizzes...we promise), and read the stories of the animals whose lives have been changed through Safe Haven Humane Society. When you're ready, please fill out our VOLUNTEER APPLICATION
Each event is different but we often need someone to represent Safe Haven and answer basic questions. Sometimes we need help with handling dogs at adoption fairs.
Consider hosting a bake sale, organize a raffle . . . the options are endless. Contact us so we can help you get the resources you need to create an amazing event.
We need drivers to transfer our cats and dogs to veterinary clinics, training sessions, and from other facilites.
We own a good amount of land for our dogs to run and play. It can be a lot of work to keep it all looking its very best. Weeding, watering our flowers, or raking leaves are some ways you could help us.
Taking our dogs out in the big yard for exercise, practicing walking on leash, playing with toys, and brushing. Even taking our dog residents out on a car ride is a great way to have one-on-one time with people.
Help our cat residents by offering them some pets and interactive playtime. They also enjoy being brushed or introduced to something new to brighten up their day.
We donate cat and dog food to local food banks in an effort to help keep pets in their homes and reduce the number of animals needing to come to the shelter. Volunteers prepare bags of food for distribution.
Our building has been around for a while and wasn't originally designed to be a shelter. Therefore, we frequently need assistance keeping this place in tip-top shape! If you are good with a drill, a saw, plumbing, or electrical - we need you!
Since we are located in a rural community, having great pictures of our cats and dogs is a must for advertising our homeless pets to potential adopters. Help us make their Petfinder Profiles shine.
