Safe Haven Humane Society

Re-Home the Homeless Pets of Jo Daviess County and the Tri-State Area

Safe Haven is a county wide Humane Society supported entirely by community donations and dedicated volunteers. We place no time limit on the length of stay once a cat or dog has been accepted into our adoption program.

We believe that together we can make a difference in the lives of adoptable stray, unwanted, abused companion animals and the people who open their hearts and homes to them.

Double the Love Challenge Grant

As a loyal supporter of Safe Haven, we know you share our wish to find every homeless cat and dog a loving forever home. This is a challenge that our staff and volunteers embrace every day and we are proud to have placed over 2,000 animals. But we didn’t accomplish this alone. Friends such as you have been at our side every step of the way. This year, consider taking an added step and make an additional donation to our Double the Love Campaign, a $60,000 challenge grant from Gary and Cammy Seamans. These new funds will be used to help us improve our facilities and create new programs that meet real needs in Jo Daviess County including our newly launched pet food bank program to help keep animals in their homes and the Two by Two Kindhearted Kids Program, a five-week educational experience which teaches students ethics, values, and character.

Every cent of your donation will be matched penny for penny through this amazing opportunity for Safe Haven. We are off to a great start, having raised $25,000 towards the grant but we need your help to meet our goal! Just click the 'donate' button at the top of the page to 'Double Your Love! The cats and dogs thank you!
